Dan Wheldon Signed 2006 Race Used Visor

2006 IndyCar Season

Description

Motorsport Gold is proud to offer fans of open wheel racing and IndyCar the special opportunity to own a race used visor, worn and signed by the late, great Dan Wheldon, double-winner of the Indianapolis 500 and series champion in 2005.

After winning the Drivers Championship and Indy 500 with Andretti Green Racing the previous season, Dan moved to Target Chip Ganassi Racing for 2006 and won first time out with his new team at Homestead-Miami Speedway after a thrilling last lap duel with Helio Castroneves’ Penske.

Wheldon would triumph again at the season finale in Chicago but agonisingly lost the title to Sam Hornish Jr. on a victory countback despite scoring the same amount of points.

This clear race visor carries branding from the Ganassi team’s title sponsor Target and was worn early in the season by Daniel, prior to the Indianapolis 500. It has been beautifully signed and dated by Wheldon, who remains a popular and much-missed racer.
