Stirling Moss Signed “All But My Life” Book

“I took a very great deal out of motor-racing but I put a lot back, too. I do feel that I gave it all but my life.”

So recounted the late, great Sir Stirling Moss to his American biographer Ken W. Purdy during one of the interviews which provided the basis for All But My Life, the first significant book to be released about Moss since his own 1957 autobiography In the Track of Speed.

Published in 1963 by William Kimber, and beautifully illustrated throughout, All But My Life remains an essential study of the man who is statistically the greatest British Formula 1 driver never to have won the Formula 1 World Championship and which, as stated on the inside back cover of the original English edition, “answers very nearly all the questions that an intelligent follower of motor racing would like to ask if he found himself in the company of Stirling Moss.”
